Your First Assignment

We all use the Internet to look up information, listen to music and watch video clips, or play online games. Regardless of that your intended use is for the Internet, there are literally millions of websites you could choose from in order to obtain your information. What makes a person choose one website over another? Is it the colorful layout, the organization of the information, or the ease of navigating through the website?

For this assignment you are to search the Internet and find THREE websites that you use or visit frequently. After settling on your websites rank them according to the best (1st) to 3rd best website. If you like, you can base your decision on design or ease of use, or both.  Make sure to include the url address for each website.

For each website that you rank, write one short paragraph about each site and explain why you ranked the site the way you did. In other words, what do you like about this site? Anything you don't like? Mention that too. Use the vocabulary that you have learned about from the Elements and Principles of Design to describe what you are seeing on these websites.

Bold and underline the Elements and Principles of Design vocabulary that you use in your descriptions

Be prepared to share you thoughts on some of the websites you choose to evaluate as we will look at these websites as a class on the projector.

You are to write up these descriptions in an email and send them to my email address which is marty.ballew@shorelineschools.org
